Capital One - Spark Business Card

Increasing relevance with testimonials from real business owners.

The Capital One Spark Business brand had shifted its strategy to show consumers that they could be a trusted purchasing partner that would reward them for their everyday business purchases. By leveraging Capital One’s stable of real business owner testimonials across different industry verticals, we were able to create targeted content that helped Capital One acquire new Super Spender small business cardholders through direct mail, trade shows, and relationship management sales team materials.

As the ACD on Capital One Spark Business projects, I managed a team of two Copywriters and two Art Directors. Together we brainstormed, concepted, and worked with Capital One’s print production team to push the boundaries of direct mail.

  • Created new premium, disruptive direct mail packages and content

  • Ran monthly tests focusing on formats, industry verticals, print techniques and messaging  

  • Versioned 142 assets for 10 trade shows using industry-specific copy and imagery

  • Created more relevant and effective relationship management sales materials including 20 templates for emails, posters, print ads, organic social posts, digital ads and flyers
